Text Structure

Ne 1:1-3

The news about Jerusalem. Nehemiah receives information about the city’s destruction and the people’s condition, which leads to deep concern.

Ne 1:4-6

The response in prayer. Nehemiah humbles himself, fasts, and intercedes before God, acknowledging the need for divine intervention.

Ne 1:7-9

The confession and promise. He recognizes the people’s sins and recalls God’s promises of restoration.

Ne 1:10-11

The request for favor. Nehemiah asks for guidance and grace to approach the king, seeking an opportunity for rebuilding.

Reflection
