Text Structure
2 Chr 36:1-10
The unstable succession. Kings succeed one another quickly, continuing wrongful practices and contributing to the worsening spiritual crisis.
2 Chr 36:11-16
The persistence in wrongdoing. The people and their leaders reject warnings, hardening their hearts and ignoring correction.
2 Chr 36:17-21
The fall of Jerusalem. The city is destroyed and the people are taken into exile, fulfilling the warnings that had been given.
2 Chr 36:22-23
The beginning of restoration. A decree allows the return, signaling a new opportunity.
