Text Structure
1Sm 31:1-3
The defeat in battle. Israel is overcome by the Philistines, and Saul’s sons die, revealing the collapse of leadership and the weight of decisions accumulated over time.

The end of Saul. Wounded and without escape, Saul chooses to take his own life, ending his journey in a tragic way, along with his armor-bearer.
1Sm 31:7-10
