Text Structure
1 Sam 1:1-8
Hannah’s pain. Hannah suffers for not having children and faces constant provocation, living with deep sorrow even within her own family.
1 Sam 1:9-11
The sincere prayer. In anguish, Hannah prays to God and makes a vow, offering what she had not yet received.
1 Sam 1:12-18
The interpretation and response. Eli initially does not understand, but later recognizes her faith and encourages her to trust in God’s answer.
1 Sam 1:19-20
The fulfillment of the prayer. God remembers Hannah, and she gives birth to Samuel, acknowledging the divine answer.
1 Sam 1:21-23
The intentional decision. Hannah waits for the right moment before fulfilling her vow, showing responsibility and intention.
1 Sam 1:24-28
The dedication to the Lord. Hannah brings Samuel to the temple and consecrates him to God, fulfilling what she had promised.

Reflection
1 Samuel 1 shows that God hears sincere prayers. Hannah’s pain was not ignored, but transformed into an answer at the right time.
Hannah’s attitude reveals that faith involves surrender. She not only asked, but was also willing to give back what she received.
