Rt 4:1-6

The negotiation at the gate. Boaz meets the nearest kinsman-redeemer and presents the matter, ensuring everything is done fairly and publicly.

Rt 4:7-10

The confirmation of redemption. The right of redemption is transferred to Boaz, who officially assumes responsibility for Ruth and the inheritance.

Rt 4:11-12

The blessing of the people. The elders and the people bless the union, desiring that the family prosper and have impact in Israel.

Rt 4:13-17

The restoration of Naomi. Ruth has a son, and Naomi finds joy again, being restored after a period of loss.

Rt 4:18-22

Reflection

Ruth 4 shows that God writes endings that go beyond what we imagine. What began with pain ends with restoration and purpose.

Faithfulness along the way prepares the ground for redemption. Every previous decision contributed to this outcome.

This passage teaches that God works through complete stories. What seems small may be part of something much greater.
