Text Structure

Rt 2:1-7

The providential encounter. Ruth goes to gather grain and, without knowing it, arrives at Boaz’s field, beginning an important connection for the future.

Rt 2:8-13

The favor received. Boaz shows kindness and protection, recognizing Ruth’s attitude and offering care beyond what was expected.

Rt 2:14-23

The continuous provision. Ruth works and brings food to Naomi, while Boaz continues to show generosity and attention.

Rt 3:1-5

Naomi’s plan. Naomi instructs Ruth to seek redemption with Boaz, pointing to a path of security and restoration.

Rt 3:6-11

Ruth’s approach. Ruth follows the instructions and presents herself to Boaz, demonstrating courage and respect in her actions.

Rt 3:12-18

Boaz’s response. He recognizes Ruth’s attitude, promises to resolve the situation, and reaffirms his commitment to act rightly.


Reflection

Ruth 2 and 3 show that God works in the details of life. What seems like coincidence is often quiet direction.

Ruth’s attitude reveals that faithfulness and willingness open doors. Small actions can lead to great changes.
