Text Structure
Jdg 15:1-5
The initial revenge. Samson reacts to the loss of his wife and causes destruction in the Philistines’ crops, initiating a cycle of conflict.
Jdg 15:6-8
The escalation of the conflict. The Philistines retaliate with violence, and Samson responds with greater force, intensifying the situation.
Jdg 15:9-13
The surrender of Samson. The Israelites themselves, fearing the Philistines, hand Samson over, revealing fear and lack of positioning.
Jdg 15:14-17
The supernatural victory. The Spirit of God comes upon Samson, and he defeats many enemies with an extraordinary act.
Jdg 15:18-19
The dependence on God. After the victory, Samson cries out for water, and God responds, showing that his strength came from the Lord.

The period of leadership. Samson leads Israel for years, marking a time of partial deliverance.

Reflection
Judges 15 shows that impulsive actions can generate cycles of conflict. Samson reacts emotionally, and each action increases the tension around him.
Even while being used by God, he faces the consequences of his own decisions. Spiritual capacity does not eliminate personal responsibility.
This passage teaches that dependence on God is essential. After the victory, Samson recognizes his need, showing that true strength comes from the Lord.
