Reflection

Joshua 9 shows that not every mistake comes from rebellion; sometimes it comes from haste and the lack of seeking God. Decisions without direction can create lasting consequences.

Appearance can deceive when there is no spiritual discernment. The people analyzed what they saw, but did not seek God’s guidance.

As presented in Patriarchs and Prophets, chapter 47, Israel’s failure reveals that relying only on human logic can lead to misguided commitments.
