Text Structure
Num 12:1-3
The criticism against Moses. Miriam and Aaron question his leadership, motivated by comparison and dissatisfaction, disregarding the role given by God.
Num 12:4-8
The response of God. God calls those involved and affirms the uniqueness of His relationship with Moses, highlighting his faithfulness and intimacy.
Num 12:9-10
The immediate consequence. God’s anger is manifested, and Miriam is struck with leprosy, showing the seriousness of the attitude taken.
Num 12:11-13
The intercession. Aaron acknowledges the mistake, and Moses intercedes for Miriam, demonstrating humility even in the face of offense.
Num 12:14-16
The restoration and waiting. Miriam is temporarily set apart until she is restored, and the people wait, showing the collective impact of the mistake.

Reflection
Numbers 12 shows how comparison and criticism can generate conflict even among close people. Questioning positions established by God can bring serious consequences.
Moses’ attitude reveals a different heart. Even as the target of criticism, he responds with humility and intercession, not with revenge.
This passage teaches that God defends what He establishes. At the same time, it shows that there is room for repentance, correction, and restoration.
