Reflection

Genesis 11 shows that human unity, when disconnected from God, can lead to pride and self-sufficiency.

As presented in Patriarchs and Prophets, chapter 10, the issue was not the construction itself, but the motivation of the heart-the desire for independence and self-exaltation. Humanity was seeking security and identity apart from God.

God’s intervention was not only judgment, but also protection, preventing humanity from drifting even further from its original purpose. This reveals that, at times, limits are a form of care.

This passage reminds us that our plans need to be aligned with God, because only then do they find true purpose and secure direction.
